There will be many community events and activities available for this summer. Unfortunately, the easy-to-read calendar is missing from the city’s web site so I’ll list some of the events here:
Cogir Senior Living Community will have their 10th Annual Car Show with music, BBQ & photo booth. It will be held Saturday, June 3 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. The vintage cars are amazing and their owners are very knowledgeable. Get there early for the BBQ. I didn’t even get a hot dog last time.
The Party in the Parks will be back on June 29 in Pine Meadow Park and August 31 at the Mill Creek Sports Park. No mention of any event in July.
Pianos on Main will be back July 11 thru September 5. Some people can really play and some of us are resigned to being really good listeners.
The Summer Concert Series in the Town Center will begin on July 28. It will be held at the Forum (near the Blazing Onion), on Wednesdays from 6 – 8 p.m.
August 1st brings us National Night out, a personal favorite. It will be held at Buffalo Park this year.
The Mill Creek Festival, arguably Mill Creek’s biggest event, will be back on July 15 and 16. Proceeds benefit the Mill Creek Scholarship Fund.
The Mill Creek Classic, an annual charity gold tournament, will be held on August 28. Both of these events are run by our own Mill Creek Chamber.
The annual Wine & Beer Walk has been postponed to Saturday, October 2nd.
I’ll keep you updated on any new activities.
